If you have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, you may be interested in a 48 week research study being conducted right now in Frederick, MD.

 

Are you age 18 and over, are currently taking methotrexate you may be qualified to participate in this study.

Are you suffering with Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Rheumatoid Arthritis affects approximately 1% of the population worldwide. The clinical onset often involves gradual joint destruction and deformity causing pain, stiffness and may result in functional disability.

The Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center of Maryland  is participating in a worldwide research study for patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis.  The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of three different dose regimens of an investigational medication.  Patients may be randomized to placebo or one of the three dose regimens of an investigational medication.

      To qualify for the study you must be:

·        At least 18 years of age

·        Diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis for at least a year

·        Previously treated (current or past treatment) with Enbrel (etanercept), Humira (adalimumab), or Remicade (infliximab) without acceptable benefit (ineffective.)

·        Presently on a stable dose of one of the Disease Modifying Anti-Rheumatic Drugs (DMARD) such as methotrexate
